Moving With Pets
Pets
are part of your family and have special needs during a move. It really
helps to have me introduce you to the local area vets, pet shops, etc.
If you have a dog you might want to know where the nearby dog park is
located and how to get there. You’ll need to know about any special town
ordinances that might apply such as registering your dog or cat.
Should you need anything special done before you arrive (such as fencing
in the yard), I’ll help to have this coordinated for you so all is ready
in advance or as soon as possible under the circumstances.

Give Your Dog A Run At A Dog
Park
It
can be difficult to exercise your dog when you’re in the middle of unpacking
boxes. It can also take some time to get to know your neighbors over the first
few weeks. You can solve both problems by taking your dog to a local dog park.
Dog parks aren’t for everyone but if you and your dog enjoy going to them,
the local dog park will help Fido run off some steam and socialize with other
dogs plus you’ll get to meet many local residents and maybe book a play date or
two for your pets.
There are 5 dog parks maintained by the Bergen County Parks Department. If
you have a small dog, not all of them have a separate area for small dogs. Some
have water available and some do not so it’s best to bring some water along for
your pet.
