School in Bergen County is taken very seriously. Bergen County homes are highly valued not only for our proximity to Manhattan but also for the strength of our school districts (many of which have national reputations for excellence). K-12 systems predominate but high school can also be a regionalized system and sometimes middle school is combined as well. No matter the school system, one thing is for sure: People look at homes for sale in Bergen County, NJ, because they want to send their children to our public schools. In fact, our public school systems are so strong that for a county of nearly 1 million, we have hardly any non-religious private schools. State of New Jersey School Report Card
Since 1995, New Jersey has published extensive data on all of its public school districts. The easiest way to navigate this site is to use the View Report Cards menu box, choose County/District, click on Bergen and you’ll see all the towns listed alphabetically.

Bergen County Technical Schools & Special Services
Bergen County has a comprehensive county wide system of education that includes the highly competitive Bergen Academies, Special Services for special needs and the Technical High Schools for specific vocational training. Bergen Academies is the newest division of our County School System and it has been a tremendous success attracting highly motivated, successful students to its many disciplines.
