This article is an edited version of last week's in case you missed it. What's changed is that last week's Indepedence Day celebrations have been deleted.
Bergen County celebrates the 4th of July with parades, fairs and local events. This year is particularly notable because it's the 250th Fourth of July.
July 4, 1775 is the day that the Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence creating the United States of America. Founded on the principle of individual freedom, the US is a representative democracy uniquely based on this idea, this love of individual freedom.
