From butterflies to a Revolutionary War re-enactment, we have a wide variety this weekend.  

Concours on the Palisades          
Concours on the Palisades is this Sunday 10-2 at 231 Main St in Fort Lee this Sunday.  Actually, this address is basically in the vicinity - they have so many cars to see that it stretches out quite a bit.  Being a car enthusiast, this is something I will not miss - high end exotic, luxury and vintage cars you rarely get to see.  There's a municipal garage at 298 Guntzer St with a special $10 for the day fee. 

Our Lady of Mt Carmel Feast and Music Under The Stars       
Simply a spectacular event that is one of the biggest Church Feasts in northern NJ.  The Our Lady of Mt Carmel Feast and Music Under The Stars runs Wednesday through Saturday 6-10 except 5-10 on Saturday.  The food is fabulous; many people stop by after work for take out.  It's so huge that it occupies Town Hall Park at 299 Delafield in Lyndhurst.  In it's 33rd year, this Feast is one of the most highly anticipated Bergen County events.  As always there are a limited number of discount ride tickets you can get at the Rectory.  Music Under The Stars is on every night with major performers.  You have to go at least once in your life.

Revolutionary War Re-Enactment at The Hermitage        
If you've never been to the Revolutionary War Re-Enactment at The Hermitage, you really need to see this.  It is so authentic in every way that you'll feel like you're there.  This is an all day event Saturday from 10 to 4.  You'll see soldiers and General Washington plus demonstrations of blacksmithing, candle making, quilting, etc. and  muskets firing too.  They have food trucks coming too so you can buy something to eat and drink.  Admission is only $10 adults, $5 children and under 6 free.

Open House Evenings at Mrs. Kearney's House
Here's a free treat for you.  The historic Kearney House at the Alpine Boat Basin is open to the public (no reservation required) from 7 to 9 for the next 3 Thursday nights (July 10th, 17th & 24th).  They re-enact the times with music, story telling, games and more.  This transports you back to the 1700's so much that you'd expect to see George Washington walk in the door.  Billed as an adult only event, they also have a donation box at the door - please participate.  The Kearney House is a Bergen County treasure.  They have events during the year all of which sell out quickly so it;s a good idea to keep on top of things here.

TD Bank Summer Concert Series at Ramapo College         
Every summer TD Bank generously sponsors a concert series at Ramapo College in Mahwah on Thursday nights followed by fireworks.  These free outdoor concerts are always excellent.  There's a snack bar + 2 food trucks: Conrad's Ice Cream and a crushed ice truck.  This is held 7-9 on the bandshell lawn so bring folding chairs or a blanket.  If it rains, they just hold it indoors.  This Thursday night is the beautiful music of internationally acclaimed The Infernos.

Bergen County Town Summer Concert Series         
In case you don't know, nearly every Bergen County town has an outdoor summer concert series.  With all the rain we've had, I just didn't post any.  AND here we go again - a week filled with rain.  Still, you should really check what your town has to offer.  A lot start after the 4th of July Weekend but some are scheduled starting in late June.  Again, rain has been a huge problem.  So call up your town hall and find out about it.  

Bergen County Movies and Music In The Park        
Beginning tonight at Riverside County Park in North Arlington, Bergen County's Movies and Music in the Park summer series is back again.  Extremely popular, these free concerts and outdoor movies happen July - August every summer.  As you will see from the graphic link here, there is a full schedule of outstanding concerts and family oriented movies.  But, yet again, our wet weather will have an impact.  So download this graphic for the full schedule as hopefully the rain will go away.

Vintage Baseball at HNBL (Historic New Bridge Landing)     
Every summer Historic New Bridge Landing puts on a vintage baseball game.  One of the summer's most popular events, this is a lot of fun.  It's a double header on Saturday starting at 11 am.  The players come in authentic 19th century uniforms and in between the 2 games you'll be entertained by a barber shop quartet.  You can buy yourself a hot dog and a drink plus there's going to be an ice cream truck too.  For a fun day, you can't beat it.  Go to the Vintage Baseball at HNBL web page for more details and tickets which are very affordable.

Moth Night at the Teaneck Creek        
Are you like me?  Do you only know 1 thing abou moths - that they can eat a hole in your clothes?  Moths are much more than that.  The Teaneck Creek Conservancy and the Bergen County Audubon Society have a special free program all about these flying creatures.  Friday night come to 20 Puffin Way in Teaneck with your flashlight for Moth Night.  You'll learn about moths and get to find and identify different types of moths using your flashlight and moth bait.  I have no idea what moth bait is but I'm sure this will be a fun experience. 

Peter Lin Quartet         
Peter Lin, the jazz impresario, is coming Saturday night to the Puffin Cultural Forum at 20 Puffin Way in Teaneck.  His Peter Lin Quartet will be giving a jazz concert at 7 pm with a suggested donation of $10 per person.  Jazz concerts don't often happen and this one will be terrific.  So if you love jazz (or just live music in general), this is the place to be Saurday night.

Tenafly Nature Center Events         
This weekend there are 3 events going on at the Tenafly Nature Center.  There's the ongoing Butterfly Feeding Friday through Sunday 1:30-2 and 2-2:30.  Scavenger hunts are fun and the TNC has their Seasonal Scavenger Hunt starting Saturday at 1 concluding Sunday at 2.  Scroll down the web page for the details.  Saturday night has a special, mystical event - Fireflies and Faeries where you stroll down forested paths as you watch fireflies and look for faierie houses (some of which you can buy).

Mini Golf Outing Fundraiser       
Here we have a fundraiser for a wonderful organization - Healing The Children.  This organization helps children around the world with disabilities and other medical challenges.  Saturday 11-3 is the Mini Golf Outing Fundraiser to help support Healing The Children.  What a great idea!  Mini golf is fun and it's for a great cause.  Its held at Paramus Mini Golf which is a great facility. 

NOT THIS WEEKEND BUT - You want to go to Englewood's Night Market         
Every summer Englewood turns it's business district into a walking mall filled with 50+ vendors, musicians and food trucks.  Store owners have special deals and everyone has so much fun.  It's this Wednesday 5-11.

Bergen County, as I've always said, has so much to offer.  Summer doesn't offer 20+ happenings as you get in the winter.  That's because there's so many weekly town and County outdoor concerts and movies.  Events that do happen in the summer are huge as you just saw.  So go on out and have fun this weekend!
