This week begins with the Englewood Night Market and ends with my office's garage sale fundraiser to benefit breast cancer research.  You'll notice that weekend events will slow down as we move into August.  So many people are away during the summer that events start looking toward the fall.  But, we still have some great things to do. 

AND remember to check your town to see what concert they have going this week plus we have this week's outdoor movies and concerts at Bergen County's various County Parks.  

Englewood Night Market on Tuesday
One of the largest street fairs here, the spectacular Englewood Night Market opens Tuesday night at 5 and closes at 11 pm.  The entire business district gets involved and East Palisade Ave becomes a walking mall with non-stop music.  Live bands and a DJ get people up and dancing.  Food trucks and Englewood's renown restaurants offer an amazing medley of cusines.  Local businesses and vendors have specials.  There's a 40 foot water slide and games for children.  Outdoor bars serve drinks, cocktails and mocktails,  This is one of the most popular and anticipated.summer events.

Native Plant and Butterfly Walk
DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst is alive with butterflies, raptors and a wide variety of native plants.  Wednesday morning from 10 to 12 Audubon Society guides will take you through the park where you'll see and learn about all of this.  This also sets you up for their Butterfly Day on the 26th.  The Native Plant and Butterfly Walk is is a free event.  Please email (greatauk4@gmail.com) or text (201-230-4983) Don Torino so they know how many people are coming.

Bergen County Players Dracula Auditions
Bergen County Players, as I've written before, is one of our their live local theater groups.  They have a large and devoted following because their productions are truly excellent.  Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors opens October 24th and auditions are this Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7 pm.  This is an open audition which means anyone can try out.     

Super 70's Rock Show Concert at Ramapo College
Did you love the rock music of the 1970's? Another in the TD Bank Summer Concert Series at Ramapo College, the Super Trans Am Band is bringing their out loud and outreageous 70's era music show that takes you back to that time along with the music.  The Super 70's Rock Show concert is Thursday night at 7 and most of these free concerts are followed by fireworks too.  Bring folding chairs or a blanket to the ampitheater lawn.

Jazz Under The Stars with Chris Beck
The Englewood Public Library is producing it's 14th Annual Jazz Under The Stars Concert Series this year.  Chris Beck is performung on Thursday night at 7:30 and this is a treat.  Chris Beck has quite a repuration in the NY jazz world as a talented drummer, composer and educater.  He has a quartet and has just released his 1st album.  He infuses classic jazz with contemporary rhythms and African influences for a beautifully unique sound.  This concert series is held on the library front lawn so bring folding chairs and/or a blanket too.

Emil Buehler Trust Telescope Public Viewing Nights
If you haven't done this yet, you really need to.  Thursday nights through August 13th from 8:30 to 10:30 the public is invited to come to the Emil Bueler Trust Telescope Public Night fron 8:30 to 10:30.  You will see the stars, planets, far away galaxies and more for free.  This is an awesome experience.  All you have to do is come.

Emo Night Brooklyn at the Williams Center in Rutherford
Did you grow up with emo and punk music?  Wish you could go back to those crazy days with their wild music?  Well you can Friday night at the Williams Center in Rutherford because Emo Night Brooklyn will be there.  Get ready for a late night emo and punk concert by Emo Night Brooklyn that will have you dancing and screaming with delight.  Tickets are online at $28.46 each.

Yoga For The Soul
Once again on Saturday morning at 9, Bergen Town Center has Yoga For The Soul  as a freepublic service.  No matter how skilled you may be, this is a class you'll enjoy.  

Weichert Realtors Breast Cancer Garage Sale on Sunday
My office is having a garage sale on Sunday 10-3 to raise funds for breast cancer research.  This is happening at 105 Union Ave in Cresskill.  Location is the parking lot at the back of the building.  We are hoping to raise over $1,000 on Sunday.  IF you have something you want to donate, call me at 201-741-8490.
