This week we have several great things to do from collecting cards to tons of seafood.  This is really an active weekend.  Let's hope the weather cooperates so you go out and have fun!  Saturday looks good and hopefully the rain won't start too early on Sunday.  Herre's what we have for you:

Bergen County Players Auditions
It's time for the next set of auditions at Bergen County Players.  This is for their December production of the Rogers and Hammerstein musical play,  Cinderella.  This is an open audition - anyone can try out for a part.  It starts Sunday at 6 plus Tuesday at 7 and the following Sunday at 6.  Call backs for those selected are Monday the 10th at 7.  Go to the BCP Theater at 298 Kinderkamack Rd in Oradell.

Bergen County has several Movies After Dark this week in Van Saun County Park and Pascack Brook County Park.  Van Saun has 2 - Wednesday and Friday - while Pascack Brook has 1 on Wednesday.  All movies start at 8:30.  Bring a chair or banklet with you too AND all movies are free.  

Bergen County also has a series of free concerts.  Music InThe Park has 2 concerts this week.  Tuesday night at Riverside County Park and Thursday night at the ampitheater at Overpeck County Park.  These free concerts start at 7 and don't forget to bring blankets or chairs.

Shakespeare In The Park
One of Shakespeare's most beloved plays and a riotously funny comedy, The Taming of the Shrew begins a 3 performance run 7:30 Wednesday night (July 29th) in the Atlantic Street Park next to the HACPAC Theater.  No purchase necessary - just bring a chair or blanket.  This is part of HACPAC's Shakespeare In The Park series.  

Books and Pilates Class
This is for the ladies on Friday night at 6:30 to 9 at the All Women Gym (34 Commerce St, Hackensack).  Books and Pilates combines a full pilates class with a book discussion afterward.  Bring a book or you e-reader with you.  This is a great way to exercise and meet new friends.

Declaration! The Musical
To celebrate America's 250th Birthday, the First Flight Theater Company has a new musical honoring the Declaration of Independence.  Declaraton! The Musical is a fun musical perfect for all age groups.  It has 2 performances Saturday, 3 and 7, at The Hermitage.  Tickets are best gotten online 

Meadowlands Racetrack Seafood Fest
It's time for the summer's biggest seafood festival, the Meadowlands Racetrack Seafood Fest.  Location is the Meadowlands Race Track and time is 5-11.  If you love sefood, this is for you!  So far they have 30 food trucks and local restaurants coming.  After you can always have even more fun at the race track.

Township of Lyndhurst Card Show
Card collectors and anyone interested in collectible cards will want to come to the Township of Lyndhurst Card Show on Saturday 9-3.  Cards there are in several different categories from baseball to Pokemon and everything in between.  This is a fundraiser for Lyndhurst's EMS and Recreation so it's a $3 admission. Location is the Lyndhurst Rec Center at 862 Valleybrook Ave.  

Japanese Food Festival 2026
The biggest Japanese festival in New Jersey is this Sunday from 11 to 8 at Overpeck Park.  This is so big that it takes over the Amphitheater and the entire lawn.  The Japanese Food Festival is so much more than delicious Japanese food, there's also Japanee dancing, cultural exhibits, all sorts of Japanese vendors.  Come and enjoy the Japanese experience in a major fun way!

Songs of 1776 Under The Summer Sky
As part of The Hermitage celebration of America's 250th Birthday, Sunday at 3 they have a concert of Revolutionary era music -  Songs of 1775 Under The Summer Sky.  This sounds like lively and energetic music and they say some audience participaton.  If it rains, don't worry - they'll just go inside.

As we move into August, there's still a lot left to this summer.  Especially so because Labor Day is so late - it's the 7th. 

I've been working with a buyer who's in a low price range.  A lot of people told me that it's a waste of time because the price range is impossible.  Well nothing is a waste of time and we hit a home run.  Got a house in a cute town that isn't a wreck, not in a flood zone and not on a major busy street in her price range.  For anyone out there who's been told it can't happen, that's not always true.  You just have to keep trying.
